The Huntsman former playing fields, a key site independent of the neighbouring Berkley Homes Kidbrooke scheme, came under close scrutiny to ensure that the two developments were designed as a cohesive community. In addition the close proximity of the adjacent Blackheath Park Conservation Area increased the site’s sensitivity.
Greengage undertook a number of assessments, reports and strategies, together with an ecological survey, to ensure that the design proposals of the scheme met with the relevant requirements. This work also included a socio-economic analysis of the proposed development to aid creation of community cohesion.
Greengage’s early input into the design process enabled the scheme to achieve good ratings through the introduction of a variety of energy efficiency measures for all units in the development.
