Greengage undertook an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening exercise and generated a Sustainability Statement to support the detailed planning submission for this contemporary office development. Understanding the requirements of the statutory authorities enabled the scope of works to be tightly focused around key requirements, which avoided the need for environmental assessment and saved time and money.
The 150,000 sq ft office building over six floors occupies 0.55 hectares on the western side of the West Quay and comprises Phase 3 of the comprehensive proposals to regenerate the area south of West Quay Shopping Centre.
Greengage advised upon specific environmental planning conditions and liaised with the Environment Agency and Southampton City Council with respect to flood risk conditions and archaeology, which led to their successful discharge.
